Currently in Mama Inés it is exposed the work of Álvaro Villarrubia, commemorating the anniversary of the Barbie doll.
Álvaro Villarrubia is a Spanish photographer born in Madrid, known for his portraits of celebrities and his work in the world of advertising. He started back to the Rockola room time with Tino Casal, Alaska and others in the Madrid scene. Villarrubia managed to forge his style with lush image that gave him these musicians. His taste for fashion models is defined as “Street people”. He has done work for Swatch, Camper, A-Style and of course for Barbie from Mattel that you can come and see it at Mama Inés Café. Álvaro Villarrubia name sounds among the stars of pop music and cinema. Among the Spanish singers, the long list goes from Alaska to Miguel Bose, Bunbury, Marta Sanchez and Monica Naranjo. He also portrayed the dancers Nacho Duato and Joaquín Cortés, and multiple actors like Carmen Maura, Elena Anaya, Natalia Verbeque, Elsa Pataky and Javier Bardem.
Internationally, many renowned stars have posed for him, such as Robbie Williams, Mel C of the Spice Girls, Duran Duran, B-52’s, Dita Von Teese, Iggy Pop, Moby, Muse and many more.
